Ay Wahcow that's not 100% fats lah, its 90% fats only.

Anyway first bite of Fatty Cheongs Bu Jian Tian Char Siew was heavenly! But somehow Meng Kee got that extra special something. Effect of the KL drain water perhaps?

Interestingly, I don't find Fatty Cheong's very good. Prefer the Overseas Restaurant one in KL...will try Meng Kee this time. Heck, will eat both Overseas and Meng Kee.

When you go to Fatty Cheong next time, make sure he is there and tell him you are one of our kakis. Then ask for the Bu Jian Tian cut. I think you might change your mind.

The char siew from Tiong Bahru market is very good as well. Can't remember the name of the stall though. That stall makes their own sausage which is my favourite. Yummy.

Yes, Bu Jian Tian is the pigs armpit and is really an extension of the belly meat except that the fats here are less well distributed.

Here is a quick pic of the Meng Kee...I bought them uncut...

There is something about this CS that makes it so lovely. Look at all the crisp, burnt ends and caramelisation of the sugars coating the outside. The cuts had lean and fatty meat. Of course the fats were more flavourful.

I wonder if Fatty Cheong's can surpass Meng Kee's if I get hold of some really nice and fat Kurobuta Pork and get him to roast it?
