My wife is currently undergoing confinement...this set me thinking. With so many "pan tan" and myths about, what would be some good recipes besides the usual ones that we see in chinese cuisine that can help the new mothers fortify their constitution and improve breast milk flow?
Be good if we can take a look at the myths and truths objectively and see if they apply.
Being a nation of food lovers and such diverse cultures, I think it would be interesting to share recipes from different backgnds, such as malay, indian, eurasian, chinese and others(maybe italian,or jap or even middle eastern??) that we can come up with for a truly Singaporean Confinement menu.
On a side note, vested interests, as I may have to step in for one or two days, so canvaasing for recipes
I use the simple recipes in Patsie Cheong's Recipes for Pregnancy and Confinement. You can easily locate this recipe book in Popular Bookstores. Patsie Cheong's books are well known for their simple to follow instructions and very nice recipes. Check it out.
