Amazingly, there is this chicken rice that has queue and only need to work for 6 hours, normally sold out by 6pm, in the aircon Kopitiam. I personally like the rice from here. But the rest like chicken and chili are good only, not the best. However, it's the only one here, so always have to queue a bit.
Then there is BBQ Chicken Wing Rice and Fried Chicken Wing Rice at the Western of non-aircon Kopitiam. Amazing wings!! And really surprised that they served chicken oil rice, which Western normally don't do. I love the chili. It's hot! And got taste. Medium rare beef is good too, if you like beef. (For this, I would say both the chicken wings can contend to be Singapore's best. Super nice. Nicer than some famous TPY one that a TPY-resident friend bought for me.)
Mixed grill from Western in the aircon Kopitiam is not bad as well. It's normal fish fillet from supermarket and all. But the butter makes it good. The chicken chop sauce is sometimes good sometimes too salty one. Very weird. haha, like buy lottery. Mixed grill is a really value for money eat full full and shiok enough item. (Of course not the best in Singapore. But just, if you sort of have to eat there... ...)
The Salmon Rice and Butter Pork Chop Rice at the non-aircon Kopitiam also very nice! Lots of rice to eat full full. And the meat all very tasty.
And if anyone drinks bubbe tea like crazy, try the Peppermint Milk Tea from the brand-less bubble tea shop in front (bus-stop side, KFC row). Every flavour from there tastes like the real fruit despite it being powder. I've tried and love everything from pure milk tea, peppermint milk tea, grape snow blend, orange milkshake, strawberry oreo, blueberry, honey aloe lime, mango, yam, blue coral. Every flavour will not disappoint. SweetTalk is rubbish.
May I add that the malay stall at the non aircon coffee shop is also good. Lately they have the sotong with egg which is my fav. The ladies also serve mee rebus and chicken rice. Look like I have to try the chicken wings soon. They have been there for some years must and surviving so must check it out.
I see. I don't really like the malay stall breakfast. don't like the economic beehoon breakfast too. =( roti prata not nice at all. sadz (cos roti prata is one of my favourite foods). The fish soup is very, very wu hua (value for money). Many big slices, and reasonable nice tasting soup. This is the go-to if you want to be more healthy that day. But seafood soup not that good.
I've tried Malay stall for lunch cos breakfast left bad impression. I guess I'll try the sotong egg tomorrow! Sotong is my current new favourite food. And I will die without a daily dose of egg. Feel very unbalance without egg.
PS: Really, really, must not only try the chicken wing. Must eat the rice as well. I do feel that it's chicken oil rice, not bottled chicken mix. And take the chicken rice chinese chili (if you not scared hot).
That coffeeshop only this Western and the salmon rice stall opposite are best sellers. Meal time sure queue and queue. That salmon rice stall always make me walk walk 30 min whole big round come back still queuing.
Oh and I forgot! DESSERT! hehehe. The corn peanut flavour ice kachang from aircon kopitiam is good! That thing can eat days in a row, and it actually inspired me to try making my own ice kachang. I bought a blender just to blend ice for this. And bought all the atap chee, crushed peanuts, jelly, blah blah. Then went to mix my peanut butter with water to get that taste. That day I came back from supermarket, my mum said I crazy.
Strangely, the china girl not very generous with all the other desserts. But for the peanut ice kachang, she gives a lot of ingredients!
Oops, still got other can eat stuff. The plain and tom yum ban mian in the aircon is good! I was introduced this by a friend. She always eat ban mian, don't know why.
Laksa yong tau foo also good.
The black sauce sesame oil chicken from porridge stall in the aircon is very good too! Can have it days in a row until you think too much oil.
Or luak can eat, but just caution it's $1 per or luak, cos I saw the lady put them in. One serving is $5. So don't expect more or luak than starch. But taste is can eat if you no choice must eat there and crave or luak.
Unfortunately, both the economic vege rice (air con and not) not very nice, and not very generous. So I hardly buy from them.
And I forgot Prima Deli waffle. This is for those sweet-tooth people out there. Despite not being crispy, Prima Deli waffle has fans, and has queue no matter what time at Jurong Point. (Somehow Boon Lay people quite crazy about this waffle. I have never seen Prima Deli waffle queues elsewhere.)
The secret is the egg white. Quite obvious from the colour. Can taste it too, because the put so much. At Tamp Mart, you can always get Prima Deli waffles without waiting too long, cos too ulu, no queue. Plain is the best. Red bean is quite real, and second best, followed by chocolate. The rest are just normal jam, and cheese is square supermarket cheese.
Red bean Prima Deli Waffle = great for nutritious breakfast. =) Those parents always one shot buy more than 3 for their children. So cute when I see uncle order 1 blueberry, 1 chocolate, 1 cheese, like that. =)))
They should try making it the Belgium waffle way though. Seriously, crispy is always better.
(NTU Canteen 2 still has the most delicious Chinese waffles, crispiness that last even when cold.)
There is actually a famous kopi right? At the stretch of coffeeshop about 2 stops away from the Shell Station and Holy Trinity Church. That is a bit nearer. But still a bit troublesome to go, and I heard sometimes not open one.
jyoan, the coffee shop at Block 107 Tampines has few good food stalls. This coffee shop is next to Holy Trinity Church and opposite Shell Petrol Station.1. the braised duck stall, I love the pig skin & yam rice. 2. The Roasted duck has cripy skin and the siow bak also great. 3. The Dim Sum stall has good siew mai. (goto try the other dishes soon). I noticed there is a seafood cze char stall which has life fish, jeo duck etc. Where is the coffee shop that has very good kopi? Which Block?
I think it should be the 201E there. I haven't drink before... But heard from a friend. It's right by the road, can see if you take 28 away from Shell direction side.
I take 28 many times le, but always can't be bothered to purposely stop there and go down. haha. --------- Yup, I heard of the Cze Char! I have an auntie friend who lives 277, opposite that coffeeshop. She likes to phone order from that cze char.
There is this a bit like half restaurant not restaurant with those kind of black signboard on top (is it the cze char everyone is talking about??) in that row, I've eaten the furong egg and I remember the sambal kang kong also not bad.
yeah i think there was one there about 8yrs ago... and they served nasi lemak too >.<"
I had prata at Mr Teh Tarik before.. but they aren't my cup of tea so i won't recommend them . If i were to compare, i'll opt for the indian prata shop that is in the same block, and it faces the carpark. Ask for the chicken curry for the prata.
The spider a web, the bird a nest, Man friendship.
Shoumar Cafe at Tampines BLK 462 #01-62 just opened this week. Photos of food not up yet. A Mixture of Malay food and Western food. They sell Ice-kachang, Nasi Lemak,Mee Goreng, Lontong,Fish n Chip, Prata and Nasi Pandan, Mexican set meal, Lasagne, Pizza etc. Lontong and Nasi Lemak quite nice and chilli is good. I also tried the Mexican set meal and nice to eat. The fries are self-made according to the owner. Give it a try.
I went at around 12.30pm to take a look. They sell epok epok, fish & chip, mee goreng and Mexician food.A guy explained to me why his food is good. He later introduced me to the lady owner. Surprised she said she is not ready to serve too many cusomers. The shop was empty when I was there. Ken888, are you related to them? I introduced the guy to look at this blog, i.e. ieatishooipost.sg
